At completion of the 2-day course, post-test and case study report the PRC Institute Certification in Conservative Treatment of Bladder and Bowel Dysfunction is awarded.
Course Objectives
At the conclusion of the course the participant will be able to:
- Describe the anatomy, physiology, neurology and function of the urogenital, gastrointestinal and pelvic rotator cuff systems.
- Describe the functional relationship between the urogenital, gastrointestinal and pelvic rotator cuff systems.
- Describe dysfunction in urogenital, gastrointestinal and pelvic rotator cuff systems including stress, urge and functional incontinence, bladder urgency and frequency, constipation, diarrhea and pelvic pain.
- Develop assessment techniques for bladder, bowel and pelvic muscle disorders.
- Develop components of treatment strategies for bladder, bowel and pelvic muscle disorders.
- Develop clinic design, marketing and reimbursement strategies for treating bladder, bowel disorders.
Pelvic Rotator Cuff: Low Back, SI, Hip, Knee & Ankle
Integrate Pelvic Rotator Cuff treatment with your present orthopedic patients.
The Pelvic Rotator Cuff is a revolutionary breakthrough in understanding trunk, pelvic and lower extremity function. It is a missing link to successful rehabilitation of back, SI, hip, knee and ankle dysfunction. This course includes anatomy and neurology of the pelvic rotator cuff and the muscle systems influence on back, SI, hip, knee and ankle function. Assessment includes analysis of motor control within the muscle system, neuromuscular control via the autonomic nervous system, and functional outcomes in back and lower extremity movement and pain patterns. Assessment and treatment with an emphasis on the integrated synergistic action of the pelvic, abdominal and back muscles in pelvic girdle and low back dynamic stabilization. This neuromuscular treatment approach includes rebalancing exercises using the pelvic rotator cuff and autonomic nervous system to achieve dynamic pain-free movement of the SI and low back.
Treatment includes neuromuscular and therapeutic exercise techniques to reverse muscle dysfunction and pain, A.N.S. rebalancing for optimal muscle performance during athletic events and daily activities and internal muscle alignment to minimize pain. Care Kit included.
Pregnancy, Postpartum: Prenatal/Postpartum Program- online
Add a new niche to your practice.
Integrate anatomical and physiological changes of the pregnant and postpartum woman into your assessment and treatment techniques for: diastasis recti, sacroiliac dysfunction, back, leg and foot pain, postural dysfunctions of kyphosis, lordosis, and pelvic descent. Understand the process of labor and delivery and coping strategies that facilitate an optimal experience. Develop a prenatal and postpartum program for the individual or group setting. This course includes the complicated patient and cesarean delivery. Care Kit included.
The Mature Woman: Aging & Pelvic Dysfunction, Organ Prolapse, Back Pain & Balance- online
Menopause and aging changes affect physical and functional aspects of a woman’s life. This course focuses on the physical changes in the neuromusculoskeletal, urogenital and gastrointestinal systems and how these changes can be minimized. Eighty percent of women between 35 and 75 years of age will experience significant organ prolapse that interferes with physical performance and daily activities. This course covers assessment of common musculoskeletal problems, bladder and bowel dysfunction, organ prolapse, back and foot pain and standing balance/falls. Treatment strategies include Abdominal Core Power exercises that prevent further organ descent, use of the Wonder W’edge for inversion and realignment, Roll for Control exercises for back pain and standing balance and Physiological Quieting for A.N.S. rebalancing. Care Kit included.
Pediatrics: Bladder, Bowel & Standing Balance Issues
Bladder, bowel and standing balance issues affect over 20% of children between 4 & 12 years old. There are five distinct diagnoses of bladder dysfunction and seven diagnoses of bowel dysfunction. Problems include nighttime bedwetting, daytime holding and wetting patterns, neurogenic bladder, constipation, paradoxical puborectalis contraction, diarrhea and irritable bowel syndrome. Bladder and bowel issues are associated with spina bifida, cerebral palsy, ADHD, autism, developmental delays, Down’s syndrome and metabolic disorders. Standing balance and coordination walking are closely associated with bladder and bowel issues in kids since both are related to maturation and function of the pelvic rotator cuff muscles and the central nervous system. This course covers the diagnoses, causes, medical tests and interventions. Evaluation and treatment techniques give immediate results with easy to do Roll for Control exercises. Care Kit included.
Men: Bladder/Bowel/Sexual Dysfunction- online
Non-invasive approach to treatment. Easily added to your orthopedic practice. Men after the age of 50 have one of five problems: benign prostate hyperplasia, prostate cancer and radical prostatectomy, chronic pelvic pain, constipation and erectile dysfunction. This course includes the anatomical and physiological changes of the male urogential and gastrointestinal systems, assessment and treatment techniques including medical procedures, pelvic muscle and digestive system reeducation, A.N.S rebalancing, lifestyle changes and prevention of long term problems. Care Kit included.

Abdominal & Pelvic Core Power: Inner Core Strength from the Athlete to the Centenarian- online
Abdominal Core Power is your guide to having strong, flexible abdominal muscles while at the same time having a healthy back, good balance, effective bladder and bowel control. Typical abdominal exercises cause descent of bladder, bowel and pelvic muscles resulting in increased back, leg and foot pain, as well as bladder and bowel dysfunction. Learn to improve function in athletes for optimal performance, to prevent back pain in pregnancy and postpartum and to prevent falls in the elderly by strengthening abdominals with inversion and core alignment. Maximize abdominal strength while lengthening the spine, aligning internal organs, and pumping blood and lymph towards the heart. Care Kit included.
Chronic Pelvic Pain & Low Back Pain
Integrate the In-Balance program with your present orthopedic and neurologically involved patients.
In-Balance is the essential assessment and exercise management program for chronic pelvic, low back and sacroiliac pain. It is a research-based, non-invasive management system that is easy to follow and client centered. This course includes types and characteristics of chronic pelvic, SI and low back pain. Assessment includes analysis of motor control within the transverse abdominus, multifidus and pelvic rotator cuff muscle systems; neuromuscular control through the autonomic nervous system; and the impact of pelvic organ descent and function on chronic pelvic and back pain. Management and treatment includes neuromuscular and therapeutic exercise techniques for reversing muscle imbalance, inversion for realignment of internal descent, and A.N.S. rebalancing for optimal function of the muscle systems involved. Care Kit included.
Fibromyalgia
A course for therapists seeing patients with fibromyalgia and general chronic pain conditions.
